An innovative programme designed to meet the needs of absolute beginners and pre-literate students in English. Comprised of 18 lessons, A1 combines basic vocabulary development with a phonics-based beginners’ reading approach, designed to create an integrated learning environment for the development of literacy skills and communicative fluency. With A1, students will learn the alphabet, using sound/symbol correspondence, plus add over 150 words to their vocabulary, helping them on the journey to gain beginners’ level communication skills.

Each lesson begins with a video which is followed up by a tutorial to help reinforce the ideas being communicated. Games and role-play are included to create a more immersive environment for learning and to give students a chance to practice their skills. Frequent assessments ensure students are on the right track in their learning. This combined with our native language support system will ensure no student is left behind.

Completion of the A1 programme will provide a solid foundation for essential English communication and literacy development and prepares students for more advanced instruction.
